On the September 28th Wake-Up Call, Rick Moore is joined by UVa Honor Committee Chair Nick Hine to talk about the philosophies, processes, and criticisms of the Honor Code at UVa. Topics discussed include the history of the Honor Code, changes in the Honor system, how Honor offense cases are handled.
On the September 14th Wake-Up Call, UVa Professor of Economics William Johnson joins Rick to talk about the economic effects of the minimum wage. Topics discussed include how the minimum wage influences the consumer price index, the labor market, and poverty among low-income families.
On the August 24th Wake Up Call, Rick is joined by intuitive analyst Lee Channing. During the hour they talk about major life decisions, loss, and finding ways to move forward with positive energy and color awareness.
On the August 17th Wake Up Call, Rick is joined by veterinarian Dr. Mike Fietz. During the hour they talk about cats and dogs, taking calls from the community about their own pets. Topics covered include dogs who drink excessive amounts of water, cats with allergies, and quality of life for elderly pets.
On the August 10th Wake Up Call, Rick is joined by immunologist Dr. Scott Commins and two parents Karen Brooks-Fox and Kelly Jackson. During the hour they discuss food allergies: what are their causes, where are the cures, and how they affect children and their families.
On the December 1st Sunday Morning Wake Up Call, host Rick Moore interviews Mary Burruss, lead coordinator of the Radio Resource Project, a combined effort between The Music Resource Center(MRC), Tandem Friends School, and WNRN to allow local teens to create and air their own radio program. Starting on today’s show, we will air a seperate “30 Minute Throwdown” created by students on the first Sunday of every month. The half-hour show will feature original music produced/recorded at MRC, as well as music chosen by the students. Some of the music will be performed by Tandem singers/musicians. The show will also feature news and movie tips. Local area teen musicians are encouraged to submit music to the program as well.
